Duke Cloafin

In The Mad Mage of Sevendor, Duke Cloafin is the aging Duke of Remere who takes a more active role in kingdom politics than usual due to the Merwyni incursion and Farisian piracy devastating his duchy's maritime trade. He participates in both the war council and the Royal Curia, supporting Minalan's resolution of the Merwyni matter and endorsing strong fiscal accountability measures for counts in arrears. He appoints Count Dranus of Moros as his new court wizard — partly as a reward for the defense of Remere, partly to avoid the political bloodbath that competing candidates were generating. His duchy is heavily dependent on merchant shipping and is disproportionately harmed by Farise's corsair activity.
