Royal Counselor
Count Kindine is "kicked upstairs" when Count Moran positions himself as the new ducal Prime Minister, but Kindine remains a royal counselor in his own right. He has advised Rard toward patient waiting on Rardine's captivity rather than raising an army to fetch her back.
He presides over the Royal Curia with his deputy Lord Argas, asking sharp questions about ransom, about the Princess's virtue on rescue, and arranging parchments to transfer the rescue rewards. Later he acquiesces to Rardine's demand for Anguin's Alshari deeds. By the time the Borfeyd disclosure arrives he looks exhausted beyond all measure, gasping at the news that the Westlands are lost.
