Raer Rinthon

In The Mad Mage of Sevendor, Raer Rinthon is one of the nine memory-ghosts in Minalan's mind. An Alka Alon lord who served as a lareneth — a high-ranking council agent — he is characterized by deep, abiding cynicism and bitterness. His disillusionment stems from decades of service enacting council policies that violated the very ideals he swore to uphold, culminating in the unjust execution of a king who was merely incompetent rather than malicious. When Rinthon dominates Minalan's mind, he causes Minalan to argue with Alya, behave coldly toward family, and view all politics through a lens of inevitable corruption. Despite his bitterness, he retains a core belief in the nobility of a few individuals and holds duty as sacrosanct. His memories prove useful in strategic analysis and understanding Alka Alon political dynamics.
