The monstrous warded citadel of the Nemovort Mycin Amana — a near-impregnable seat of the Enshadowed inside human lands.
Darkfaller is the Gilmoran fortress seized and rebuilt by Mycin Amana, one of Korbal's senior Nemovorti, as a forward base for the Enshadowed among human-held territory. It sits within the reach of Count Anvaram's strengthened line of Gilmoran castles at Nion, but its thaumaturgical defences make it a byword for an impregnable stronghold, referenced in the series as the standard against which other walls are measured.
Darkfaller became Mycin Amana's principal seat after she escaped captivity at Tuervakothel, taking up residence in Isily's stolen body. From it she ran a slave-holding operation feeding Talented blood to her undead, and from it she orchestrated the mass kidnapping of magi from the Sevendor Magic Fair in Marshal Arcane.
The storming of Darkfaller by Terleman's forces and the Magelaw's magi is the climactic campaign of Marshal Arcane, during which Isily's ghost first manifests to aid Minalan against Mycin Amana. The castle eventually falls and Mycin Amana is driven from Isily's body in Preceptor.
