The old Flerian barony, nominally ruled by Baron Vulric — split by his late father into West Fleria (held by Gimbal as a near-independent domain) and East Fleria (Vulric's direct seat).
Fleria is an old Riverlands barony of the County of Lensely, nominally ruled by Baron Vulric. As Sir Cei explains in Magelord:
Technically the Baron of all of Fleria. But when their father divided the realm to keep them from killing each other, Gimbal insisted on near total independence, and began calling his brother's lands 'East Fleria'. He pays only a token tribute, and rules West Fleria as if he were himself a baron.Sir Cei, Magelord
The result is an awkward two-lobe domain: East Fleria, the larger and more stable half, governed directly by Vulric from his seat; and West Fleria, run by Vulric's elder brother Gimbal as a semi-independent vassal-warlord. Relations between the brothers were poisonous. Vulric ruled as a proper baron; Gimbal ruled as the Warbird.
When Gimbal fell at Sevendor, Vulric pointedly refused to raise an army against Minalan, even when his ruined brother begged him to. Minalan later rewarded this restraint by leaving him alone, eventually placing a Sevendori tenant lord at Uwarridor within East Fleria's borders after Rard gifted him estates there. The Fleria that survives is Vulric's quiet, watchful barony — a minor Lensely vassal whose western half was absorbed into Sevendor and Taravanal.
