Terrematon

Terrematon (also spelled Terramaton) is the Citadel of the Censorate, a fortified complex in the Duchy of Wenshar that served for centuries as the administrative and operational headquarters of the Royal Censorate of Magic — the checkered-cloaked body charged with policing irionite and prosecuting unlicensed high magic. It is a substantial stone citadel with ample chambers, libraries, and training yards, sited in Wenshar to keep the Censorate close to the mage-heavy Wenshari population without placing it under any single Duke's direct thumb.

Governance passed from the Censor General downward through a chapter of Censors. When Hartarian stepped down as Censor General and the old Censorate was folded into the Kingdom's new regulatory regime, Terrematon's future became a live political question. Pentandra and Minalan discussed taking it over as the permanent home of the Arcane Orders, including library, record storage, and administrative offices.

In Hedgewitch the citadel's fate takes a further turn: the new Wenshari leadership, interested in founding a bouleuterion on the Sevendor model and possibly a warmagic academy besides, proposes to use Terrematon's ample room for the purpose (in return for further allocations of witchstones to the Wenshari magi).
