The killing dive trained into the Sky Riders of Vanador, in which a Stooping Falcon and rider drop with locked talons and a war-spell timed to the impact.
The Stoop is the signature attack of the Vanador Sky Riders, developed by Lady Dara and her senior wing in the years after Cambrian. The bird, a giant raptor of the Stooping Falcon strain, climbs to altitude with rider strapped to a saddle-harness, then folds and drops at terminal velocity with talons locked forward.
The trick is not the dive — any falcon can stoop — but the rider's timed war-spell. A skilled Sky Rider casts at the instant of impact, so that the bird's strike, the rider's lance, and a precisely shaped spell all hit the target in the same moment. A perfect Stoop will go through plate, through a Nemovort's warmagic shell, and through the body inside it. Dara herself credits the technique with ending the Cambrian Dragon engagement, and an entire course at the Order of the Horka now teaches it.
