Weapon
Sir Tyndal's mageblade, a long-edged irionite-bound sword forged at the Bouleuterion and carried through every Magelaw campaign from Timberwatch onward.
Slasher is the working name Minalan gave the long-edged mageblade he carried from Farise — thirty-eight inches of government-issued, high-carbon alloyed steel. The pattern is a Wenshari long-sword, hilted in yltedene steel and pommelled with a small bound shard, bound through standard mageblade enchantments to its bearer's witchstone.
Minalan wielded Slasher through the Goblin War, from the siege of Boval Vale to the wall at Timberwatch and the storming of the Censorate Citadel. At the close of the Warmage campaign he pulled it from his scabbard and pressed it into the hands of his apprentice Tyndal, who had outgrown his shorter cavalry sword — a hand-me-down Tyndal carried through later missions including the Enultramar infiltration and the relief of Anjak's tower, until he lost it fighting siege beasts in Gilmora. The blade remained a fond memory; in Book 15 Tyndal still invoked it while lobbying Minalan to let him inherit the mageblade Blizzard.
