Commodore, Pirate, Slaver, Rebel Fleet Commander
Commodore Sadikoas β "a Sea Lord from a discredited house, a pirate and a slaver" β allied with the Alshari exile faction in Farise. Commands the Alshari rebel fleet from his galleon, the Gilded Adventure, moored at the northern docks of Calafel "under the colors of the old Council of Counts." Mavone calls him "even more of a scoundrel than the Count [Cingaran]." His fleet is roughly 25% true men-o'-war, rest converted merchantmen: caravels and galleons.
A suspicious lightning storm (implicitly magical) strikes three of his ships and burns them to the waterline. During the Farise chaos the Brotherhood of the Rat seizes the docks; he keeps a few caravels there but his bulk is at Calafel. Minalan identifies him as the key to breaking Cingaran:
his alliance with Commodore Sadikoas needs to be broken.
At the climax, Minalan flies the Junebug over Calafel, singles out Sadikoas' flagship, and uses a plasma/fire strike to disable the Gilded Adventure:
If Sadikoas wants to flee, he'll have to leave his flagship behind him.
Shortly after, with the navy's boarding parties, Sadikoas "tried to put up a fight, but it's hard to load a crossbow or wield a scimitar when magic has pinned your arms to your sides." He is captured, his ship impounded. Most damning: on his flagship he and Cingaran "did together to one of the servant girls from the palace one night on the Gilded Adventure . . . She died, and a lot more slowly than he will." Minalan executes him.
