The successor organization to the dissolved Royal Censorate of Magic, reconstituted under the patronage of the Duke of Merwyn with new red-and-white checkered livery and a revised mandate.
After the abolition of the Royal Censorate, its surviving warmagi regrouped at the former commandary at Nablus in Merwyn under the Duke of Merwyn's patronage. Though they adopted red squares instead of black in an attempt to distance themselves from the Censorate's fearsome reputation, the association lingered in the popular imagination. Led by Commander Dareen, the Order claimed its checkered livery was simply the heraldry of the new institution, not a continuation of the old. By treaty, it was granted authority to administer magic in Merwyn and Vore without interference from the Arcane Orders of Castalshar. They possessed approximately twenty-two witchstones among their members.
