Sky Riders

The Sky Riders are the aerial arm of the Magelaw: warriors mounted on giant hawks -- "making giant hawks seemed like a pretty good idea, a few years ago" -- grown from Dara's original bond with Frightful. They are housed, bred and trained at the Mewstower outside Vanador, where Dara serves as Sky Captain in command of every rider, and where cadets as young as fourteen are taken on. Their story runs through the Cadet novels and The Talon and the Flame.
