A clandestine vigilante force created by Pentandra and Sir Vemas in Vorone to eliminate criminal gangs ("Rats") loyal to the old regime. Named after a local myth about woodland avengers.
The Woodsmen were a secret operational unit created by Pentandra and the military officer Sir Vemas while she served as Ducal Court Wizard in Vorone. Using intelligence gathered both magically and personally, the group targeted criminal organizations (Rats) operating in the city's Market ward that had been left over from the old regime. Members wore masks and robes during operations, removing them afterward to disappear back into the populace. Their cover story — a mythical band of woodland avengers — was reinforced through a popular song, "The Rise of the Woodsmen," that spread through the city's inns.
