Pentandra's Father: Orisorio vs. Osirigo

Name / Spelling ยท Possible Retcon

Pentandra's father is named 'Orisorio' in most appearances but 'Osirigo' in Books 1 and 2, suggesting an early authorial inconsistency that was quietly corrected as the series progressed.

Pentandra's father appears under two different names across the early Spellmonger books. In Spellmonger (Book 1) he is first introduced as Orisorio:

Her father, Orisorio, indicated his respect for any hard-working mage, even to the point of letting me know a friend of Pentandra's could always get a job in the East.Minalan, Spellmonger

However, later in the same book and again in Warmage (Book 2), he is referred to as Osirigo:

I'd met Penny's father, Master Osirigo, when I had stayed at her family's estate.Minalan, Spellmonger

By Court Wizard (Book 8) the name has settled into Orisorio, used seven times without variation. Overall the books use Orisorio eight times and Osirigo three times. This appears to be an early inconsistency that the author corrected in later volumes rather than two distinct characters.
