The hidden Alka Alon tree-city where the Aronin served as oracle-lord — destroyed by Sheruel early in the gurvani invasion.
Amadia, the Hidden City, was an Alka Alon tree-city grown from living trunks soaring a hundred feet into the air, with bridges strung between them and wasp-nest-like globe dwellings of a strange natural material high in the canopy. Round windows admitted the sun, balconies bore tree-top gardens, and the whole was concealed by songspell and refuge from casual discovery. It served as the seat of the Aronin of Amadia, an oracle-lord of the Versaroti line. The city was home to the scholar-seer Zagor's patron, and to the Aronin's young daughter Ameras.
It was at Amadia that Minalan first had his original witchstone cleansed by the Aronin, a debt which bound him to the Alka Alon cause thereafter. The city's governance rested with the Aronin personally, in the oracular fashion of the Versaroti line, with little of the council politics that characterised the greater citadels.
Amadia fell when Sheruel stormed the refuge during the early gurvani invasion; the Aronin was captured and eventually imprisoned in Olum Seheri, while Ameras slipped away and vanished into the wilds. She was later rediscovered by Minalan living as a fugitive in the vale of Anghysbel during the events of Footwizard. The city itself was destroyed, and its loss stands as the first great blow to the Alka Alon that convinced many on the Council the humani war could not be ignored.
