Village · Duchy of Castal
A small, out-of-the-way magelord's domain near the Alshari frontier — remembered as the site of the first great Convocation of Warmagi.
Robinwing is a small domain in western Castal, about three hundred miles southwest of Wilderhall and hard against the Alshari frontier. Like Sevendor, it was granted to a magelord in the early redistribution of fiefs; unlike Sevendor, it came to its new lord fully functional and even profitable, thanks to a large temple complex and a community of ambitious villagers. Robinwing Castle is spacious and roomy, the village boasts several good inns, and the domain is quiet enough to host large gatherings without attracting undue attention.
Robinwing is best known as the site of the Robinwing Conclave (sometimes called the Robinwing Convocation), the first great gathering of the High Magi and Warmagi called by Minalan after the establishment of the Arcane Orders. Sire Forandal, Robinwing's delighted magelord, played host; the temple on his lands was large enough to house the conference without fear of being overheard, and the inns of the village absorbed the overflow of warmagi and their retinues.
In later years Robinwing was chosen as the site of an alternative magical fair, specifically designed to serve the footwizards and hedgewitches who had been crowded out of the now-enormous Sevendor Magic Fair. Pentandra argued that Robinwing could specialize in the needs of itinerant and country magi.
