Duchy of Castal

Duchy · Kingdom of Castalshar

One of the Five Duchies, founded by Bemin, son of King Kamaklavan by his second wife. A largely Narasi-culture duchy.

Castal was awarded by King Kamaklavan to Bemin, one of his two sons by his second wife, alongside Remere (awarded to Kamlan). Considered one of the lesser gifts compared to rich Vore and fabulous Merwyn, Castal nevertheless became a stable duchy within the Five Duchies system. The Narasi culture remained stronger here than in Remere, which retained more of the Imperial Magocracy's traditions.
