The cursed barony of Master Dunselen and his wife Isily — birthplace of the Magewar and the graveyard of the old mageocratic ambition.
Greenflower was granted to the aged and ambitious magelord Dunselen, one of the original council of magi who raised Minalan as military commander against the gurvani. Dunselen, wheezing about the Bans and proper magical accountability in Warmage, used his irionite and his wealth to forge Greenflower into a power. His marriage to the shadowmage Isily, an assassin and schemer, made the barony the quiet seat of a growing faction hostile to Minalan's influence.
The barony's seat, Castle Salaisus, became the epicentre of the Magewar: Isily's machinations there, including her role in the harm done to Lady Alya, provoked Minalan's ultimate retribution. The castle fell in the Magewar and Greenflower passed into receivership — a cautionary tale about the price of rogue magelords. Istman, the legal son of Dunselen (and secret son of Minalan), stands as heir to Greenflower under Taren's guardianship.
