The fief where the great battle against the gurvani horde was won — and where two ducal houses knighted Tyndal and Rondal on the field.
Timberwatch was a modest Alshari Wilderlands fief held by Lord Sigarlan when it became the site of the pitched battle that broke the first great gurvani invasion. The Battle of Timberwatch saw the combined Castali and Alshari armies, led by Minalan as warmage commander, defeat the horde in a day-long engagement. Duke Lenguin of Alshar was mortally wounded there, and the infant Anguin was named duke before dawn.
After the battle the fief was granted to the Estasi Order, the knightly-magical order raised to commemorate the victory and to guard the new frontier. Timberwatch became a place of training and pilgrimage: Tyndal and Rondal sparred with blade masters there, and veterans of the battle — including the shadowmage Isily — carried lifelong connections to what happened on that field.
