Imperial

The Imperial human tradition descends from the Old Perwynese Magocracy and the civilised south. Its cultural centre is the Duchy of Remere and the old imperial heartlands that once stretched from Castabriel to Farise, with Remeralon as its ducal capital and a thousand-year tradition of formal magic, legal codes, and a patrician class whose pedigree is traced through the ancient colonial registers.

Imperial families tend to value education, ritualised manners, and a refined Perwynese-inflected diction; their magi are trained in the Old Imperial tradition at Alar Academy in Remere and Inarion Academy in Castal — the last two surviving daughters of the Perwynese academic line. Pentandra is the archetypal Imperial, as are the old Cotton Lord families of Gilmora and most of the Remeran nobility. Imperial bloodlines are long-lived by human standards and are considered the aristocratic stock of the Five Duchies.
