Nattia

Nattia is a Kasari Sky Captain and hawkmaiden who joins the aerial forces supporting the Magelaw in Arcanist. Her Kasari heritage brings a distinct cultural perspective to the hawk-rider corps, and her skills in aerial combat and scouting complement Dara's operations. The inclusion of Kasari warriors in Minalan's forces reflects the broadening coalition he has built — drawing on peoples from across the known world to defend and expand the Magelaw.

Nattia serves as Sky Captain for the expedition, providing aerial reconnaissance and cover for the group as they travel through Anghysbel. Her brother Travid also participates in the expedition as a ranger and windmaster. Her Kasari skills and aerial perspective prove crucial to navigating the unfamiliar and dangerous terrain of the magic-dead zone.

In The Mad Mage of Sevendor, Nattia is a Kasari woman serving as Sky Captain and Minalan's emissary between Sevendor and Anghysbel. She flies regular routes to the lost land carrying messages between Minalan and Gareth, whose evacuation of Anghysbel she actively supports. She is romantically linked to Gareth and fiercely conservative about Kasari courtship customs — visibly flustered when Minalan asks about the Kasari Rites that Gareth must complete before proposing. Her brother Travid is training Gareth in the necessary skills. She speaks highly of Gareth's efforts in Anghysbel while clearly understating his achievements out of Kasari modesty.
