Lesgaethael

Lesgaethael is the Alka Alon embassy spire on the summit of Matten's Helm in Sevendor. The complex was built by the Karshak Alon under Master Guri at Alka Alon request after the Alka Alon Convocation, and is the formal Alka Alon embassy in the Five Duchies.

Construction

Lesgaethael is a nine-story slender Alka Alon-style spire constructed entirely of snowstone quarried from Sevendor's mountain and transported up to the summit by Karshak masons. The spire towers over a small surrounding complex that includes a hostelry, meeting halls, and Alka Alon residential quarters. The whole structure benefits from the snowstone field's lowered etheric resistance, making it one of the most magic-friendly buildings in the realm.

Function

Lesgaethael serves several overlapping purposes:

• Embassy — formal point of contact between humani magi and the Alka Alon Council.
• Tera Alon training centre — some Avalanti and Versaroti volunteers undergo the transgenic enchantment here before going to Tuervakothel for combat training.
• Lore exchange — Master Onranion, the Alka Alon adept released into Minalan's service after the Convocation, is the resident keeper of Lesgaethael and the principal Alka Alon scholar working with Sevendori magi.
• Refuge node — safe waypoint for Alka Alon evacuees from collapsing refuges in the Mindens.

Approach

The summit complex is reached by a long, steep walking path up Matten's Helm. Sevendor Town's growing Tal Alon settlement (Hollyburrow) sits at the foot of the path, providing food and rest to travellers; their tavern, the Holly Bush, is the de facto first hospitality stop on the way up. Pentandra's Veil ward conceals the path from casual humani approach.
