Formless vassals — giant maggot-like creatures that require magic to mature

The Kurja are creatures in the service of the Formless, dwelling in the deep places of Callidore. Their form is maggot-like at a giant scale — pale, writhing, and deeply unpleasant to behold. What makes them particularly notable is their magical dependency: Kurja require access to magic in order to reach full maturity. Without sufficient magical energy in their environment, they remain in a stunted, larval state.

This dependency on magic for development is a vulnerability — in environments where magic has been drained or disrupted, Kurja cannot fully develop. However, in places of strong magical confluence, they can grow into the formidable creatures they are meant to become.

As Formless vassals, the Kurja serve the imprisoned ancient evil in whatever capacity their limited nature allows. They represent one of the more physically monstrous of the Formless' created servants, lacking the terrible intelligence and majesty of the Nagulib or the shadowy power of the Beldurrazeko.
