The maiden long-haul flight of the dirigible Junebug, Minalan's expedition to recover the Vundel Lost Egg from a forgotten cache and return it to its rightful keepers.
The Junebug, the first long-range dirigible commissioned out of the Bouleuterion, was launched in the Book 17 expedition to return the Lost Egg — a Vundel artefact recovered out of a forgotten Anghysbel cache — to its rightful keepers in the southern reefs.
The voyage was Minalan's personal undertaking: the airship lifted from the Vanador yards, picked up Lilastien at Anthaspur, made an open-ocean crossing to the great floating Vundel reef-cities, and concluded with a slow ceremonial handover to the Council of the Sea-Folk.
The flight had its scares, including an electrical storm over the bay, an attempted boarding by Sea-Lords who mistook the Junebug for a sky-pirate, and a near-loss of altitude over the reef itself, but the Egg was delivered intact, which discharged a Vundel-debt that had been on the Spellmonger's shoulders since the first molopor leak. It also opened a slim diplomatic channel between mortal Callidore and the Sea-Folk that had been closed for centuries.
